Hi, can anybody help. I’m going away on hols on 28th (in the uk) this week so I requested my repeat dapaglofloxin on 22/10/25 along with amlodipine so I can pick them up tomorrow from the pharmacy. I added in the comment section for the doctor that I am going away and need to pick the script up on the 27th. Noticed I haven’t had a txt from tescos pharmacy so checked just now on patient access and the GP has rejected my request. I don’t know what to do, I only have 4 days worth of diabetes meds left. Our drs request 3 days to process a repeat med request. I had my bloods done 2 weeks ago and the dr rang me to discuss some results to following day, and said that he had requested the diabetes nurse to call me for a telephone consultation. I haven’t had a call from her so assumed nothing was urgent and that I just wait for my review in November with her. Has anyone had this happen to them and if so what was the outcome please? Our surgery staff are not the most helpful I am dreading having to deal with them tomorrow!

Contact the surgery and insist it is dealt with , first thing tomorrow.
They ought to be able to issue you with an immediate prescription to the pharmacy. Demand to speak to practice manager. Be prepared to complain, but give them a chance to sort it.

As you are going to be on holiday in UK, if you fail to get the meds required NHS111 should be able to help you.
Hope you don’t need NHS111 assistance to get meds, and that you can relax and enjoy your holiday.

Thanks Pipp, have been fortunate enough never to have had to call 111, so hopefully it won’t come to that

Tell them straight if they are no help ask to speak to the practice manager urgently
Thanks for your reply Mark. My husband knows now so he’s going to the surgery with me in the morning first thing. I’m not very confident when it comes to dealing with people behind plastic screens who love the power they have

Reception at mine were like that, people were scared to ask. Then when the practice manager was changed they became complete opposite
