Well done on the reduced HbA1c, and also the cholesterol. Your triglycerides are excellent. Great weight loss too.
I don't really understand what you mean about body fat. If you have lost 5.5kg you must have lost subcutaneous fat! (the fat that lurks under the skin and is what we can see)
Do you mean visceral fat? This is hidden fat that lurks round your organs. What were the scales telling you your body fat was before and now?
On 9th June my “Body Fat %” said 37.6% (it doesn’t give any more definition). By 22 July it was 34%, but today’s reading was 36.8%. The weight was originally 79kg and is now 74.1kg.
How do scales know the percentage og body fat? And what did you lose if it wasn't fat?
According to my calculator, and if I have understood correctly,
You would appear to have lost 2.5kg of fat, as measured by these scales, but 5kg of total weight. Personally I wouldn't take too much notice, just carry on as you are.
- 37.6% of 79kg = 29.7 kg of fat on the 9th June.
- Today your fat was 36.8% of 74.1kg, which means 27.27 kg of fat.
Sally
Numbers look fabulous e.g. trigs are less than ldl and sugars are way down.
As for fat loss I would advise against measuring this using either the scales (measuring water, muscle and bone as well as fat) or the fat scales which are known to be inaccurate.
You will have lost fat but going forward the losses may decline so it'd be good to take a waist measurement (the narrowest part of you below the ribcage but above the hip). Should be half your height apparently...
Great HbA1c reduction and superb cholesterol numbers. Your Trig/HDL ratio is brilliant well done.Just seen my blood results on the doctors website, but haven’t yet had my catchup appointment with the nurse. This is my first results as I was diagnosed three months ago. I’m celebrating with the blood results, but unsure about the cholesterol ones.
Bloods were 6.6/48.6
Now 5.8/40
Cholesterol 5.35
HDL 1.18
LDL 3.76
Triglycerides 0.9
I’ve been following a Low Carb High Fat diet and have noticed my Body Fat on the chemists scales went down and then back up, but I’ve lost 5.5kg which I’m pleased with. But does the increased body fat mean I’m eating too much fat in my diet?
Any advice would be really appreciated. Thank you.
