hi

I had a routine eye scan at the begininning of october and just received the results and I have mild diabetic retinopathy I am type 2 diet controlled and I am a little concerned as to why this is happened and how I can stop it from getting worse. I have been told by 2 gps that I don't need to check my blood sugar and I have read reports that I need to keep my blood sugar in normal ranges and blood pressure as close to normal as I can is this true. I have recently been told I have low potassium and phosphates and had a asthma attack a few weeks ago and was put on a course of steroids which I was told sent my blood sugars scatty 13.0 15.0 24.3 coz of the steroids I was told. I have always been told my sugars are fine and never told what the figure is or what I should aim for so you can see why I am so confused as to why this has happened as I believe it is down to consistently high blood sugars please please please can someone help me x
