Is a kilo 2.2 pounds?
Is glicizide the same as Glipizide? If so, it is a sulfonurea and I have been found allergic to them. So, I am wondering whether you have tried these two drugs you were taking separately to see which one was causing the distress? and sometimes the kind and form of what you take can have different results. Very quickly, the docs found that I needed to take only the time release version of metformin and I reduced the amount at one point from 3 times 750 time release to an amount that causes no distress, i.e. one time release in the morning and one in the evening 500mg but since these are time release, not too much hits the system at a time. If I start noticing more normal blood sugars, then I am going to experiment on myself again. Does anyone in your family have an allergy to sulfa drugs? If so, it might be like my case with the Glipizide. One parent had this allergy.
I applaud your determination to do the good diet and lotsa exercise thing! Also, since I do it myself, O applaud the experiment on yourself path. Keep records for the more formular and quick easy solution oriented of your docs. No one has the intuition for your own body as yourself and knowledge is power.
19.5 mmog/l is actually 19.5 mmol/l
And both 19.5 mmol/l and 8 mmol/l are no way normal than massive in the diabetic range.

New here..Was diagnosed 4 weeks ago as type 2. Was 119kgs..now 117kgs. Metformin 2x daily x 2 tabs(500mg) and Glicazide (2 x daily) were issued by the doctor . Sick for a week and half..felt like vomiting some times/ crook gut feeling / constant, sudden runs to bathroom "trots" ! Initially at 14.5 mmog/l . Dumped drugs 2 weeks so far..changed diet..minimal carbs and introduced 1 hours exercise morning plus night. Now around 8 to 8.5 mmog/l . Fallen off diet a few times as still adjusting...blows out when do. Last night was 19.5 mmog/l after sweet dessert & hamburger ---just had to see how it happens ---but dropped to 8 mmog/l after 1 hours exercise. Note my exercise is a light use of a waterrower machine. Last 2 years basically no or little exercise..but have strong legs due to prior mountain hiking from 3 years ago. Doctor steaming angry that i refuse the medication..however my concluding is the only real answer is weight loss under low carb diet. Interested in others views. I note that i see here other people have found weight loss the big driver to reversal.FYI- I am in late 40's
