Rising BG Reading

Hi joined last week and finding this forum v useful

I was wondering if anyone could help me. Yesterday I tested my BG roughly 3 hours after lunch and I was 6.4, but then an hour and a half later I tested my BG before dinnerand I was 9.8.

Just wondering how this is happening as it happened again today. 2 hours after breakfast I was back to 5 (which I woke up at this morning) then before lunch I was 7.3.

I am on 3 injections novorapid (b4 break, lunch and dinner) (1-10 carb ratio) and lantus at night (6 units). Is it the insulin or the food I am eating? I have ideas but I just don't really know :!:

All replies appreciated

Thanks

Your post-meal reading on the 2-3 hour mark a fine, I would say it is your lantus that needs adjusting. Try increasing lantus by 1 unit and test over the next few days before adjusting again.

I have increased my lantus for the moment to check for changes.

Thank you both for the help

Remember to test over the next few days before adjusting again, it can take a few days for the changes to take effect.
