I have been to the GP 3 times and she just keeps giving me the same thingpoor you. i would suggest seeing gp again and see if he/she will give you something stronger
have you tried a hot water bottle?
I have been, I saw him about 2-3 months ago! Had my MRI over a month ago and now waiting for the results for that, which I get on the 25th July! and have my first physio on the 25th June! The only problem is pain relief
I have never even heard of that lol! what do they do??This is a long shot but have you tried reflexology. Good reflexologists can work wonders. Make sure they are fully qualified. Sometimes just reducing stress makes pain easier to bear

I have had sciatica for a year now and not one day has been pain freeNicola Anne, I'm currently in the 3rd week of a moderately severe Sciatica attack. Painkillers like OTC Co-Codamol aren't working. Now I've phoned my doctor and she says she's sending a prescription fo a higher dose of Co-codamol to my pharmacy. She says 6 weeks is a typical time for this sort of thing. Also told me that if it doesn't ease off with the tablets she's sending, I should come in. She also said that my exrcise routine is the best thing to do. I do aqua mobility 3 times a week and 5 minutes after I get into the pool, I'm pain free for a couple of hours. If you don't have an exercise class in the water at your nearest pool, just try going for a swim. i'm sure that will help. If that's not possible, a little walk might help

Ah, I see maybe I will give that ago if all else fails!Reflexologists work with your feet. Tethered are zones on your feet for every part if your body and mind. Usually you lay on a bed or chair and they massage the pressure points that are affecting you. It is so relaxing you will probably fall asleep.

Also, seeing as my GP aren't really taking me seriously would A&E or a walk in centre be an idea or of any help? I just want to be able to sleep at nightReflexologists work with your feet. I have physio the end of this month so will see how that goes first!A chiropractor can help with sciatica. You'd have to go private an pay though.
Do you have to pay for them though? I am ringing NHS direct later though as I need some temporary pain relief so that I can sleep! I get pins and needles in my leg/foot too!Dear NicolaAnne,
Your Sciatic nerve is being trapped in the respective hip area. Take it from me - one who knows - that seeing a VERY EXPERIENCED AND RECOMMENDED reflexologist will be the best thing you will have done up until now. Remember that a reflexologist has seven years training behind them and, yes, many have their own diagnostic equipment including X-ray machines. Ignore doctors who poo poo them!!!
