SD Codefree Testing strips, No free postage for me :(

When people who know nothing about the LCHF diet tell me I'm killing myself being on it. I was killing myself not being on it!
I went to order testing strips from homehealth using the discount code as before, when I got the discount for 10 boxes and free delivery. Now they state on their website info**FREE Standard Shipping to all UK Mainland Addresses* So that excludes me in Orkney. But seeing as my husband is visiting our son in Inverness next week I thought I would have some sent to him in Inverness, seeing as Inverness is in **FREE Standard Shipping to all UK Mainland Addresses* Ah but NO! It seems that Inverness isn't in *All UK Mainland* It's funny that, as when I get the ferry to the mainland (Gills Bay, near John O'Groats) I am indeed on the UK Mainland. Inverness has never been part of the Scottish Islands, it has always been on the mainland of Scotland, which then is mainland UK! Scotland didn't get independance, so we are still part of the UK. The package is sent out by Royal Mail who charge the same rate nation wide for postage, from Lands End to John O'Groats and all points east and west.
So it looks like I have to try and find some other strips, or another supplier who will not be misleading on their website.

It would be a big help if the local health board would give us T2's testing equipment. A nurse that came into the care home I work in to train us on how to test residents blood said "There's plenty of testing equipment available. Just ask and we will get you more" So why not give some to us!
 
Welcome to my world .. I am in Moray and often battle with extra P&P charges .. have stopped using my code free meter now .. but think I always was charged extra for delivery .. but on balance it was still cheeper than other test strips.
 
Have you tried ordering the strips using Amazon? For goods totalling over £20 they have free delivery in UK, though you have to remember to tick the free delivery box during checkout. I don't know how Amazon defines "UK " but if you're not happy you can always abandon the purchase.
 
Have you contacted Home Health and asked them about this anomaly? It may be a glitch in their systems so they may be quite happy to hear about it. I have always found them very helpful.
 
If you order via Amazon there is no discount for X number of boxes .. and some companies (Not home health) just refuse to deliver to the top half of Scotland !!
(for the Test strips in Amazon they are Dispatched from and sold by Home Health (UK) Ltd. So no need for the 20.00 for free delivery)

Have you got an Argos near you? ( click and collect) that should be free if you do it through eBay (home health U.K. )

I received an order last week via Amazon, for 4 boxes, for which I didn't pay any delivery charge. They were sold by Home Health (UK) Ltd. and fulfilled by Amazon. I don't know about reductions for bulk buying, since I've not tried that option.

Like we said earlier, no discount if you order via Amazon.. Not sure about ordering anything on eBay .. not had a good experience with them !

BigJim, apologies, I've only just seen your post.

Homehealth do retail via eBay, however you can only use their discount code when buying direct. As that discount equates to around 20% off, it really is worthwhile. The discounts apply to orders for 5 and 10 pots, but most of us work our way through those quantities without too much trouble.
 
No problem I don't buy direct just use eBay simply because Argos is a 5 minute drive away and my post box is to small
for the packaging
In your case the place you stay it's easier to buy in bulk directly from the suppliers and get a good price good luck
 

You can nominate an alternative delivery address, if I recall correctly. Have you considered having them delivered to work perhaps, or a neighbour who is at home most days? The 20% discounts add up.
 
Well the Home Health UK website has still not been changed. I was told that not sending to mainland Inverness post free was a mistake in the postal charges and would be changed. But it still hasn't been changed. So I think a call to Trading Standards will be on the cards tomorrow. £10 is a pretty hefty charge to add on to the testing strips, I know I am using the discount voucher, but they should not advertise free postage to ALL mainland addresses when they won't do it!

Just find it easier to pick up at Argos as I'm up there shopping on a daily basis and still find it a reasonable price with out the discount
I only check once a day unless I have different food as I've went through everything I usually have and found out what spikes me and what doesn't so I don't use a lot of strips
 

Why don't you phone them and order over the phone..then if they ask why you can tell them that their website is wrong and needs updating? I usually find that a pleasant phone call will usually sort out most problems caused by technology.
 
All sorted on the web front. Have ordered testing strips and am very happy! Thanks Home Health for everything
