Hi I'm new to this, my son is 9 and has been type 1 for 2 years and on the pump, I've always worked, found it a struggle but managed. My daughter is 10 and got diagnosed type 1 last week. I really don't think I'm gonna cope with working, I want to be able to look after both to the best of my ability, I've discussed this with my partner and decided to give up my job ( not done this yet ) I'm worried I won't get any assistance as we can't manage fully on my boyfriends wage. I currently get DLA Middle rate for my son and child tax credits that's it. Any help would be appreciated thank you x

Hi, sorry to hear of both your children being diagnosed, you must be feeling pretty upset at the moment, it's now double.
You should get Child benefit x 2
Working tax credit, 16 hours or over, for one working
Child tax credit, on a low income, or unemployed
and now a DVL rate for your other child,
possible Rent or Council tax benefit

You could look online for some help and also the CAB should be able to help and advise you on these matters.
I found this :-
https://www.gov.uk/benefits-calculators

Good luck and I wish you all the best. Please let us know how you get on ?

With best wishes RRB

Can you also get carers allowance?

I'm so sorry. You must be in shock.

I agree, the CAB and the benefits calculator are your first port of call.
Beyond that, can your diabetes clinic help? They must have contacts and recommendations.

Please let us know how things go?
