Hi,
I was (eventually) diagnosed as a Type 2 this time last year. I'd had all the symptoms for quite a while (drinking a lot, widdling for England, periods of being VERY irritable yadda yadda yadda) but as have other things wrong (I'm about to go in for a quadruple by-pass next Tuesday after 11 months on the waiting list (feet are numb due to poor circulation, not neuropathy and the widdling was due to the diuretic - wrong in both cases); I'm still waiting to see a trick-cyclist - psychiatrist - about my mental health - the source of my occasional outbursts and irritability - partially right, as a full-time carer for my Mother - who had Alzheimer's (she died last year) I suppose I was a little irritable but I've never shouted at a Pharmacist or Doctor's Receptionist before in my life (flowers, choccies and a lot of grovelling apologies sorted that one out); and I have been asthmatic since a child)
So anyhoo, I'm on 500mg Metformin and diet to control my blood sugar. I can't feel my right foot forward of the arch, my left from the ball of the foot forwards. I stumble quite a bit (at 6'7" and 21st *I* wouldn't want to pick me off the floor!) and have fallen a couple of times. Hopefully, once this by-pass is done I can start being me again.
Regards
Simon (who goes on a bit)
