If someone is on an SGLT2 Inhibitors you can’t rule out Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) based on the BG being “not out of this world”. Therefore if there is any sickness etc as well as mid-range ketosis a “blood gas test” needs to be done at A&E if someone is taking SGLT2 Inhibitors.
DKA is most unlikely in anyone who produces any of their own insulin, hence one of the reasons that SGLT2 Inhibitors are "off-label" for type2 but considered save for Type2.
