Sensitive feet

Hi guys,

recently for the past week i would say, i have a had an overly sensitive foot and bottom leg. i have felt this feeling before years ago but it just went away but it has stuck around and i’m not a bit concerned, i have been type 1 for nearly 9 years now, i know there’s a chance it could be my nerves or neuropathy but couldn’t it possibly be anything else? It’s not painful in any way it’s almost just like when i wear socks i can feel the sock more (sorry if this doesn’t make sense) and it’s just more sensitive to touch. i have been feeling my feet this week and there’s no numbness or pain ect but it’s almost like the more i’m hoping it goes away the more i’m noticing it. It’s also only in 1 foot, my other one is fine.

Hi Emily.
Your unusual foot sensation can be something other than neuropathy. There are many things that cause one sided neuralgia such as spinal compression caused by s leg length fdifference or injury, there are nerve impingements from tendons, even local trauma such as tight knee high dovks or sitting with legs crossed. Can also be diet or chemicsl induced.

I would recomend being mindful of it. Note when it is better or worse. What you may have done or been doing that may trigger it. Any postural positioning which may place stress on one part, again, such as sitting with legs crossed.
 
My feet became overly sensitive after lowering BG numbers. Instead of numbness and loss of sensation, I feel pretty much everything. Like the tiniest thing in my shoe, etc., or anything I step on. Had a burning feeling too. This all happened after lowering my numbers after diagnosis. Hoping it is just nerves recovering.

Yours may just be a pinched nerve, or inflamed nerve, since it is only on one side. Could even by from the low back.
 
 
Soar toes and painful surrounding under feet

I have been diabetic with type2 diabetes for about 16 years, recently, for more than six weeks I haven’t been able to walk properly on my left foot, that’s due to soar and painful underneath front of foot, the skin is clean and there is no signs of inflammation, the result of my blood test for Arthritis was clear, but the pain isn’t getting better, I wonder if this condition is diabetes related? Any Comment will be well appreciated.

What’s your view on the freestyle libre sensor, if you’ve ever used one! how accurate your blood sugar readings have been in comparison to manual testing? Thanks
