My docs have invited me to a joint flu vaccination/covid booster appointment. Apparently they do one in each arm on the same day. My arm always swells for at least 3/4 days. Previously I have had the separate vaccinations in the opposite arm to the sensor.
Has anyone had theirs in same arm as sensor, had swelling and it hasn't affected the readings?
I did ask my diabetes nurse specialist but she said nothing had been flagged up previously and that it was important to have them. I do want them but just not on same day. I'm a side sleeper and won't be able to sleep for days and days yet if I had them a week apart, it'd solve the sensor problem and the sleep one.
WWYD?
I've had vaccinations in the same arm as the sensor, had a small amount of swelling, and readings were fine.
If you don't want them on the same day, just let them know and book one at a later date. It's not a problem, a few people I know have done that. Many chemists are doing flu jabs, so maybe that's a route to go.
Like @Hopeful34 I had both jabs in the same arm on the same day. The nurse made sure they were at least 2" apart (which is not easy in my arms) and I was fine.
Frustratingly, my sensor in the other arm failed the next day and I have been away from home (and my sensor stash) since.
I had my flu jab at a local pharmacy and my covid booster at a different not-so-local pharmacy. If your doctors are being difficult about you having both on the same day, could you get the flu jab done elsewhere? They did ask at my booster appointment if I'd had any other vaccinations in the previous seven days though, not sure why if you can have them both done on the same day.
