Hi Olu,welcome to the forum,looking at your blood sugar range and seeing that your top number can rise to about 12 I would say that that is your problem. If you could manage to keep your blood sugars down to a more normal range of about 7 you may see a big difference.

I think you're on the right track in starting the exercise. Improving cardiovascular fitness
will greatly improve "performance" and help keep your sugars down too.

Hope you dont mind a female reply on this sensitive subject, but my partner has the same probs as you, mainly controlled bs but having problems in the bedroom department.

He tried different medications before settling on Levitra, which i can only describe as a wonder drug for obvious reasons!!!!

I would also advise you to see your gp as a lot of his symptoms were put down to his diabetes ie, loss of sexual function, goin to loo a lot but actually through perstering from me and not havin a good nights sleep for ages with him waking me up to use the loo he went to gp to find he had enlarged prostate and a simple tablet at bed time now assures me a good nights sleep. Hes only 47 and would not normally be tested for this at this age.

Three things that might help: closer BG control, especially those high spikes

Tight blood pressure control

Both circulatory and neuropathic problems may be occurring (also prostate is worth checking out)

Autonomic neuropathy may be aided by this

but it doesn't work overnight. I had peripheral neuropathy to the point of tingling and "foot going to sleep" problems which resolved fairly quickly, but come back whenever my BG goes over 8.

I also have various symptoms which I'm certain are autonomic neuropathy. For a long time my heart was stuck at 60 - 80 bpm and would beat harder but not faster: a couple of years of tight control and the above cocktail (sic) and it's suddenly started working properly again. The ED has improved roughly on the same time scale. I'm still waiting for my guts to stop their occasional lockups but I'm optimistic

By the time you actually reach the diagnostic threshold to be diagnosed with Type 2 you may have had damaging levels of BG for many years, sadly this can't be undone overnight
