Hi there, can I ask if insulin needs to be kept in the fridge? a friend of mine keeps her unopened pens in the fridge but not the one she is currently using. She leaves that out. it hurts more injecting cold insulin than room temperature insulin.

only the cartridge in use is left out the fridge.

No that's correct practice. Why do you ask?
Hi thank you for responding. My friend isn't very good with computers and internet and hasn't accessed the diabetes website or forum. She had a question and I thought I would post it for her. She likes to inject using room temperature insulin, not cold.

Your friend is doing it right unused pens in the fridge and one in use out of fridge. Unrefrigerated insulin lasts only 30 days
