This is an interesting thread. I had small size shredded wheat with banana this morning as I usually have. Usually feel alright until lunchtime. Bloods were 11.1, so I knew what it was.
I felt awful this morning though and had to stay at home all day, doing nothing. Still lethargic now. Bloods a bit better at 7.1, still feeling ******, but Mrs PW is home now and cooking tea, yummy.

This morning I had plain Greek yoghurt, flax seeds and 5 raspberries - lunch consisting of one small flat bread with low fat soft cheese, 2 small vine tomatoes, cucumber and some very small pieces of cold cooked bacon - post lunch 2 hrs at 4.00 p.m BS 12.7 - a way to go but they were coming in high teens yesterday 20! Previous days 16 and 18. Hopefully nailed one problem - silly thing is before quitting cigs I never had high readings - but I'm determined to get this back on par! Waiting to see GP now, in waiting room, hoping she will support me on the low caring diet and let me have accu chek nano cliks and strips on prescription - so expensive.

@spitfire1

I don't want to hi-jack this thread yet here's an alternative view from Dr Jason Fung about food.

It has many parts that are worth reading. Personally I am working on my remission from T2DM. Good luck to us all.
