Hi Leanne,
Have you been taking basal? (long acting insulin.)
I have been the last few days yes. I take it at night though. Should i take it tonight or not?
Blimey, yes... (As usual.) You maybe fasting through a bad stomach. But you need your Lantus. (Read one of your earlier posts to find out what meds prescribed.)
Keep testing though... & keep whatever hypo treatment works for your stomach handy!
Ok. I was going to take it anyway and monitor through the night too.
Blasted stomach. Waiting on more tests for my stomach to see the cause.
Are you actually in Spain. (Looking at your username.)
I had a dodgy Paella once whilst on holiday in Spain.. (Bacteria in the rice? Or the prawns?) Gave me the worst couple of days going...
Mind you, I had It bad in India too..
You have my empathy.
No my surname is Spain.
This stomach problem is going on for years. Was told it was IBS but doctor thinks it’s something else now.
Ah, sorry about that..
Your problem needs investigating.
If your Doc is at a loss? You need referral to a specialist.
I get the impression you gotta beat the bushes pretty hard to scare up a specialist around there. Hope you feel better by the end of December or sooner. I can't offer anything here other than a little bit of support and if you need to talk to anyone i'd be happy to listen.
One thing that was made abundantly clear to me by my DSN was to never ever not take my Basal insulin, no matter how sick or tired you are. Always try and keep it at a consistent time too. I'm only diagnosed about 6-7 weeks, but learning these things makes it a little easier.
Im only diagnosed since April and insulin since June,so pretty new to it all myself. I will be taking my basal tonight and keep checking bloods through night.
Sounds good. Try not to worry too much, as that will also not help things. I see you area also from Ireland. Hopefully you are getting the support you need from the health services. I am getting great support in Mayo from my diabetic team.
