Hi, just wondering what "snacks" you give your children for school. When he's low or before exercise at school they are giving him a rich tea biscuit. He is getting bored of them. Still new to all this so looking for suggestions of things I can leave at school.
Thanks
I'm assuming you're looking for snacks to raise blood sugar to correct lows or before PE?
Little boxes of raisins are about 10g CHO and are quite good for lows or before exercise, small funsize apples or satsumas are also around 10g CHO and raise BS fairly quickly too. The smallest Kinder bars are only something like 7g CHO so might be a good occasional treat...
At present it is Ritz biscuits. 1.7g per biscuit. So normally 2 of those if between 4 and 7. Bitesize (even for her) and quick. Outside of school it is Belvita biscuits. 9g per biscuit and very slow release so ideal for bedtime.
