So why has this happened?

Diagnosed about 2 months ago... Reading was 21. For a few weeks I was consistantly running in the mid to high 20's.

Metformin increased to 2 x 3 times a day.... Introduced Vildagliptin into the mix but nothing was working to reduce mu BG levels at all.
Dr thought we were heading for insulin until as a last resort he added Gliclazide.... WOW.... BG levels fell into the normal, ecept several hypos (just the readings not passing out) so he suggested I only take half a tablet in the mornings (40mg)

Well, that worked but still got som low readings now an again so I reduced the night tablet as well (40mg x 2 daily) still got low reading now and again.

So, I decided to stop the Gliclazide completely.... Now I'm in the normal range every day, eating what I like Etc. As long as I eat something then now more hypos.

I's almost as like the Gliclazide kicked something into place and is no longer needed.

Has any one any ideas on this?
