Hya  I have been low carbing for 2 weeks now, but as I didn't have a monitor didn't really know where I was at. what would put bg up what wouldn't. so I spoke to my gp he told me he'd speak to the nurse next morning. so I sat and waited all morning for him to call me. by 2pm I decided to call him back,
I was told the nurse was about to call me. "here we go" I thought she's going to say I don't need a monitor, and she did. I explained to her that I was having problems knowing what was happening. she still thought I didn't need one. so I pulled out my trump card (sometimes illness can be usefull) I explained that my hydracephilis is hard enough to deal with and now I'm diabetic things are going a wee bit crazy. I'm suffering terrible headaches, ( thinking to much causes awful pain in my head) so she relented bless her and gave me a monitor.

After a few errors I finally got it right. I was very pleased to see that my bs was already down to 5.6 before dinner and 2 hours later 6.4
Today 1st test was 5.8. 2 hours after lunch ( wholemeal chicken salad sarny) reading was 8.2
Not bad considering 3 weeks ago it was 13. must be doing something right.

Hopefully by the time I go to the "educational clinic in April I will have got mesen down to a good level.
Hope everyone is well

Well done vonbon1 - both for getting your bs down so well also for your persistence in getting your meter

Thanks annew. Have spent 20 years plus trying to get my weight down  always put it back on.
Now I have no option, I have to lose weight and keep my bs down.
So I'm so pleased that both are on the way down already.
