I'm afraid I can't recommend a cream but as well as the ends of your fingers you can also use next to the knuckle (on the side of the finger). I only found this out after many years of using the ends if my fingers!!

I've found it fine. Just make sure you squash the area to get as much fat / skin available before pricking.

Just anywhere on the side of the finger should be ok just remember to punch the skin first. Hope it works for her.

And use a new lancet for each test.

I use the skin between my finger nail and the joint of my finger. It literally only needs the lightest of pricks then wrap my fingers around that finger and bend the joint to get more blood if needed. Saves the nerve endings of my fingertips from years of damage from blood testing. Not to mention we've less nerve endings there and so it's less painful.
