If a recipe asks for flour as a thickener, can almond flour be used as a substitute?

Not really it wouldn’t thicken it it would just float around, what is the soup you are making maybe others can help with suggestions

I've not tried it in soup, but Xanthan Gum (powder) is an excellent thickener

Or you could not thicken it at all. I make soup from scratch several times a week and it really doesn't need thickening - it's just what we are used to.
