Hi there, got given a bottle of southern comfort and the info online seems to be mixed , some saying a shot is 3G of carbs some saying 0 , anyone know which one ?

I wouldn't have a clue, but too much of that is Southern DIScomfort

It's Whiskey as far as I know 0.0 carbs

That's what I thought, apparently is liqueur tho and has 3GS of carbs per shot, ain't touching it if that's the case although another site says 0g ! Think best to leave it alone

You must be on a strict diet if 3g of carbs makes a difference, or maybe you were going to have a lot of shots. It seems to be very hard to find the carb content of alcoholic drinks, I can't find out any reliable information about the Kraken rum I was given for my birthday.

Just don't wanna waste carbs on alcohol when I can drink whiskey carb free! Says captain Morgan is 0.4 grams per shot on site I looked at but wouldn't hold me to that

This is Myfitnesspal's take on it.

I don't know how many carbs Southern Comfort has, but it got me out of hypo territory just nice last week...

Oddly, a number of years ago, cider pulled me up from a low at Heathrow airport at 5am just before an outward flight...
The company I kept on this journey had already started drinking..

@Paulm80 , for the SC I would wager 3g per shot.. (Blended fruits & spices.) Tried it once (lol maybe twice.) years back.
I'm not sure what meds you are using? (If any.) but you may find you have a reasonable FBG in the morning due to a busy liver dealing with the alcahol..

Let the meter be your guide..

Thanks that's what I think too! Not on any meds just being careful , whiskey it is then, anyone want a bottle of southern comfort

Ah yes I stand corrected SoCo not a whiskey in fact not always had whiskey in it so probably have some carbs in it.

I never touch the stuff my self single malt whisky or a good blended whisky is my preferred tipple.

The ingredients to "SoCo" are a closely guarded secret.. But from what I've read "apricot concentrate" & sugar crops up in the blend...

If I was gifted it? The bottle would be a "slow burner" (almost permanent fixture for special occasions.) on my shelf... Lol.
But then I prefer vodka..

Yeah do t like the unknown , will stick to the famous grouse! Vodka is rank haha

@Paulm80 could be worth an experiment? Test your BG then have a glass then test again in an hour and 2 hours. See if anything happens to your BGs. I would give it a go

There was a time it was based on vodka not whiskey.

I used to drink Southern Comfort when I was younger, mainly because I like Janis Joplin and she drank it.
I tried it again a couple of years ago and didn't like it then. I would think the 3 gms of carbs would be right as it is a liqueur made with peaches and is quite sweet in taste.
