Hi was told we were being given the pump for my 8 yr old at Easter. I had psyched her up and we were totally enthusiastic. My daughters figures then started to go a bit crazy and we are now having 5 injections 3 novorapids and 2 levemir 1 at night and 1 in morning. She has to be tested during the night now also. Said to Diabetic nurse that this was tough for her but thankfully we are going onto the pump soon, to which she answered: "About that, we may have the support staff to do this at the moment, still aiming for this date but probably not going to be able to achieve it" I am gutted for my daughter. I haven't told her yet as she will be devastated. Part of me wants to say look just give us the pump and we will figure it out ourselves as we have had to do for a number of things! Anyone any words of wisdom?

Gosh Blondie I bet your furious, Id stay stick to your guns why should your daughter suffer due to lack of resources their problem not yours Id be requesting what actions and time frames they are putting in place to support their lack of resources. and maybe put this request in writing so that its formally acknowledged and documented. good luck
