Hi I have type 2 diabetes and get checked regulary. Every time I see the diabetes nurse she tells me to watch my feet, which is understandable. Over the past 2 week I have noticed that the 2nd and 3rd toes on my right foot are seperating. i have a V between them, they are not painful but I am aware of them. I don't think it is diabetes related but I thought I would ask on here to be sure, before I try and get an appointment with the nurse. Just really would like to know if anyone else has experienced this? Thank you.

when one has high blood glucose one is more prone to fungus infections also between one's toes. But of cause all people can get a fungi infection... but it is a very good thing to take it serious right away cause it can spread also to the nails and that kind of fungi infection is very hard to get rid of .. even with medication and some kind of tincture to put on the area.. and if very unlucky one can also get a bacteria infection in the cite and infections are often much more dangerous in diabetics..

maybe you have very fine controlled blood glucose ...
I used to use salve with very high contains of zink in it that kept fungi away between my toes... but maybe you need something more effective from your GP.

I had something like this once. Is it worse when you weight bear? I had it and it didn't get painful as such, but after a while felt like my toes were pulling apart. It was better if I wore flat shoes.
I was told that it was metatarsalgia - inflammation in and around the metatarsals, which can be caused by injury or other conditions. Mine took a month or two to get better, but I had no lasting side effects.
