Spring appears to be here at last.

Feeling full of the joys of Spring today so just thought I would wish you all a Happy Spring and Summer.
Try and forget the doom and gloom and wear your very, very best smile.
Don't want any negative comments on this thread thank you just great big positive ones.

It is a lovely day today! the sun is out! looks like spring is here! can't wait to plant a couple of plants in my rockery this year!

Going to diabetes nurse shortly! But will keep a happy face on as it is spring and should wear happy face today!

Indeed, spring is sprung. Hubby and I have just done a lovely 6 mile walk. I've always wanted to know what the various wild-flowers are in the countryside, so bought a guide, which we took with us today. I am happy to report we saw bluebells, lesser celandines, greater stitchwort and red dead- nettles. There was a tall flower with blue flowers that I've been unable to identify but at least I've made a start and know more than before I left home this morning.
It always amazes me that there are so many hidden paths wending their way through our countryside, often right on our doorsteps, that we never discover for ourselves and we are missing so much.

The 'Blue Sapphire' azalea in full bloom,at least till the late frost gets it!! Spring is indeed here,beautiful day today.

The only downer is that the weeds are outgrowing the flowers. And whenever I think I have removed all the dandelions another one pops up to prove me wrong!

Yes it's been glorious, I've been taking mother out for a lot of drives through the villages churchyards and farms looking at first the snowdrops, then the daffodils and currently the primroses and cowslips.

Also the swallows have arrived, I'm currently awaiting the house martins which have a colony down the road, and the whitethroats (lesser whitethroats, chiffchaffs, willow warblers and blackcaps are in and there were probably four nightingales on a local common last night)

Right, out with the hose again when I've finished this coffee . . .
 
I don't think it was Alkanet, Trink, though the foliage was very similar. It was the same sort of height but the plant was very 'Christmas-tree' like in shape(symmetrical and conical I suppose) and the flowers seemed to be evenly spaced out from the stem, in intervals down the stem,set between the leaves. It's very frustrating not being able to find this anywhere, as I hate unsolved mysteries.I'll have to photograph some next time I'm out before they finish flowering.
 
I can always tell when spring has sprung, never mind looking at all the flowers that appear or when the sun starts to warm up our chilly land - for me, it's when the carp start feeding again after a long winter slumber and i'm starting to bank a few. Can't beat the spring mornings, mist on the water and a nice picture of me holding one of the many fish i've caught....................

Plus you can then put your clothes on the line again instead of using the tumble dryer :lol:
