Stopping Insulin Use

how must stopping using insulin be done?
can it just be stopped
or must it be gradually stopped?
i have no dr support or cde support
so i have to do it alone
is there a safest method to do this?
 
The safest method and only advisable method is to talk to the person who put you on insulin initially, or a qualified medical expert in diabetes management preferably.
No one on the forum can give the medical advice you are asking of them.

@therower is absolutely right. We cannot give you the advice you are looking for, because changes in insulin regime of the kind you want to make should always be with the supervision of a qualified medical practitioner.

Please contact the person who prescribes your insulin, and ask for their advice.
 
i dont have a dr
i just go to walkins
and the latest new one i found
has recently refused to give
me more than 1 test a day
i feel its unsafe to only test once a day
being hypo unaware and living alone
and using rapid insulin
and i dont have any access to any of the cheaper
test strips that are made so i feel that
now my only choice is to just not use any insulin
i have tried the other clinics and they are reluctant
to prescribe (maybe covering their own butts im not sure)
so i dont know what else to do
 
Then go to another walk in clinic or emergency and someone will help.
Is there a reason why you don’t have a regular doctor??
In Canada strips are not funded but it you are having problems maybe contact the Canadian Diabetes association.

It's extremely dangerous to stop insulin. Which country are you in?
