It is not the very tip, but not so sideways as in your link. Will try this. And of course, this finger is out until healed.No idea about the medical aspect of it, but can't help but wonder why you use what seems to be the very tip of your finger? Personally I've always used the sides of my fingers because I really don't use them for much else, whereas the tips and pads of the fingers are used all the time.
Your finger looks very painful, so finding a new site while it heals is probably a good idea till you sort out what is wrong with it. It almost looks like a blood blister under the skin.
