Hi!

On my finger - perhaps a location where I used my lancet to get blood, there is a strange thing:

first it looked like a pimple, but after some inspections it began to bleed. I was'nt able to stop it until I made a big gauze on it and leukotape on it.

Next day: same procedure

today I could made a simple band-aid. And it looks like this:

one picture is False-color of course

any idea what this could be?

No idea about the medical aspect of it, but can't help but wonder why you use what seems to be the very tip of your finger? Personally I've always used the sides of my fingers because I really don't use them for much else, whereas the tips and pads of the fingers are used all the time.

Your finger looks very painful, so finding a new site while it heals is probably a good idea till you sort out what is wrong with it. It almost looks like a blood blister under the skin.

I've always followed the advice of this site for testing and have never had any issues:

Is it a whitlow?

Did not know this, but the pictures in Wikimedia look different.

There is also no inflammation and no pus.

Looks a little bit as the flesh itself comes through the hole.

It is not the very tip, but not so sideways as in your link. Will try this. And of course, this finger is out until healed.

It looks like a little ulcer to me. Are your blood sugars well controlled? Keep it clean and dry and if it hasn't started to improve in the next couple of days, see your doctor xx

Then the likeliest cause is a little over pricking of the area. Just make sure you keep it clean and dry and get medical advice if it doesn't seem to be healing.

Calculated 1c 6.1%, so well controlled I hope.

How is it today, it looks like a tiny crater shape has developed in your finger. Hopefully it will heal well soon, but go and see your surgery nurse, if possible, or pop and show it to a pharmacist and show finger/photo's
Good luck.

Whatever came out of the hole, it seemed to die back and healing. Nothing outside the skin anymore today.
