Hello there! Been a diabetic for over 28 yrs but started pump treatment 3 days ago. I noticed this morning that my 2 day old tube to my pump (Medtronic 640G) has some strange markings inside. I've tried to take a picture. Is this normal? There doesn't seem to be any issue with insulin delivery so is it just where the tubing has twisted etc? Its a MiniMed Mio apparently!
It's normal. My DSN told me it's because the tube is actually two tubes one inside the other and you get the white marks where the inner tube sticks to the outer tube.
Happened to me too, I was convinced I had air bubbles in the tubing or something.
Turned out it's completely normal - it happens whenever the tubing gets bent. Within 24 hours of putting a new tubing set on, mine is covered in them, and I don't notice any more!
Interesting to find out that it's because of there being two tubes!
