Really bad day at work today extremely busy and stressful. I don't know if anyone else has had this but since mid morning my stress levels have risen and so has my bs! I have been a bit more resistant than normal lately but was doing ok until something happens at work and the bs creeps up quite quickly. I had a pretty 'clean' lunch with about 25 g carbs but I shot up to 15 this affo!

Yep, it happens.
Keep an eye on your BG later in the day. A stress-based high BG sometimes uses up your "sugar supplies" so may result in a later low.

Amen. I find stress raises bgl's rapidly. I've had days where the levels have jumped from 9 to 15 over an hour.

I think it's good that you're recognising what's happening. How does work stress make you feel? And how do you react? Can you change anything?
I don't work now, but used to have a stressful job, and my diabetes was the last thing I had time for. I wish I'd given it priority. From my position of not having dealt with stress at all (!) I would advise making time to test, and discussing with your DSN how to adjust your insulin doses for the effects of stress so that you don't get so many highs.
I have never come across any advice for chasing stress with insulin - probably just because I never wanted to discuss my stress with anyone, - so I'm interested in the replies you may get on this thread.

Oh yes. A team member resigned and another came to me with a personal problem on the same day, HR were unavailable so I had to manage it on my own in addition to my usual role. BS high teens.

Just do the best to mange it and try to take a step back. X

Thanks all for your responses! My bs remained high for the afternoon - I did manage to get it down at an exercise class. I think it's all the hormones that get released - my job is busy but everyday stress doesn't seem to have an effect. This was personal and produced quite strong emotions.
