I am a projects manager for a furniture manufacturing company in London
At the moment we have 15 projects all on the go at once, so as you can imagine my working day is very stressful
This has meant my BS have started to increase slightly
What tips and advice do people have on dealing with this?? Other than getting a new job lol
The only alternative is to increase your insulin to compensate for the added stress and increased bg levels, if you read the book Think Like a Pancreas the author talks about increasing insulin usage in times of stress.
I was feeling stress at work but I decided my health is more important than the job. So I am 'pushing back'. Maybe easier to say than do, I know.
I think that sometimes we bring the stress on ourselves by trying to do more, then you find that the more you do, the more they expect of you. You can soon end up in viscious circle.
I am now saying to people, "I'm sorry, but it's not a high priority and I don't have time to do this". One of the hardest things to do in the workplace is learning to say 'no'.
Of course, in a commercial environment it would be foolish to believe that you can eradicate stress completely but you can make changes that ease the load.

I'm taking this approach, it's tough when you're in a position where no one else can do your job but learning to prioritise has helped with stress immensely.

If you can, do a couple of work outs a week. Just half an hour with weights twice a week could easily reduce your stress level and bring your sugars down. Even simple body weight exercises at home with no equipment can do it. That works when you are over stressed and have no time to go to the gym.
