And remember, if you do not wish to take any medicine then there is no way anyone can force you to. It is your health and your decision. My Diabetes nurse used scare tactics on me and made out that I would have little choice but this same nurse gave me poor dietary advice per the guidelines so the decision was mine, lower my blood glucose levels (over whatever time it would take me) or start taking more drugs. I found this forum, learned how to lower my levels and I am pleased with my progress so far. Whichever way you choose to try to take control of your diet is your decision. Learn as much as you can so that future decisions are informed ones and the best of luck to you.
I've just done the after bloods after my evening meal and I think I understand now. It was 6.8 before and 7.3 after. Thank you everyone for your input. It all makes sense now. I just need to tackle my love of bread and potatoes and replace them with something else
