The past few weeks i have been gettin high blood sugar readings. i used to always get it about 9 at most but now i seem to be going up to 16! my diet hasnt changed at all, i suppose im not doin as much exercise as i am currently injured from football. But for example i have 2 weetabix and 1 slice of toast in the morning. I use levemir from backround and have 18 units! and then i have novorapid and i take 16/18units of that. But by 11am by sugar can be up to 11 or 12! could it be where i am injecting the insulin aint acting as it should or is it i not using enough insulin or should i just try starving myself and see how it effects it????
also does anyone no where i can get some really good info on carb counting as i dont really have a clue about how much insulin i need for what i am eating!

hope u can help guys!

hya and welcome to the forum,
i used to hover around 8-10 a lot and went on novo rapid and reduced carbs, the waiting list for carb counting was mnths off so i taught myself, collins do a carb counter book, its only a couple of pounds and tells u carbs in everything, i then started injecting one unit novo for each 10g carbs and soon got good control, ive had to tweek it a bit and now my novo is 1 unit per 15g carb at breakfast and dinner and one unit per 10g at tea and supper,
if u need anymore help feel free to pm me
