A "No Sh*t Sherlock" report. Cut the carbs and you are more likely to put the symptoms into remission as less insulin is required to cope with the diet.

The study seems to be of type 2 diabetics who are on diet and exercise and do not take insulin.
 
unfortunately, the article merely mentions diet and exercise... not what diet was being done...
 

less total insulin from any source is what he means...

This is the Look Ahead trial which we discussed, somewhat accrimoniously before so I'll just give the links rather than say anything more on this trial.
The paper is an analysis on the effects of the trial on diabetes demonstrating features in those who were successful in diabetes control ( The earlier paper was about the primary endpoint heart disease) the the Look Ahead data . The diets are discussed in the earlier paper
