I'm still on a waiting list to change surgeries but head of our practice has now gone (there are rumours about misconduct but it's not clear what exactly he did). Anyway, saw a new lady doctor this morning about a small lump I've found under my arm. I have to go back in 6 weeks if it has not gone BUT she seemed very approachable so I thought no harm in asking AGAIN about upping my test strips for my BG monitor. At first she said they were trying to cut back on them but then she relented after a bit of persuasion from me. It's amazing what a hand round the throat, when pushed up against a wall, can do! :wink:
I will now have 150 strips a month, which means I won't be trotting down to the docs. every 16 days. I cannot tell you how delighted this makes me. To anyone else fighting for the test strips you need......don't give up.
