Dear all I have tested my blood this morning. I had dinner last night round 9pm and tested this morning round 7am before eating anything. The result was 5.4.is this no
May I ask why you are testing?
Yes 5.4 are pretty normal, everything from 5.9 and below are normal for no diabetics.
Thank you for taking your time to reply , may I ask you how do you know
Thank you for your information I hope you doing well .by the look of it I'm very closehttps://www.diabetes.co.uk/diabetes_care/blood-sugar-level-ranges.html
«Non-diabetic* Before meals
(pre prandial) 4.0 to 5.9 mmol/L»
I also have friends and family with type 1 diabetes, and a condition myself, so I’ve learned a few things about diabetes through the years
It's because I went for blood test and my gp said It was high my A1C was 42 so I start checking at home
Thank you for you reply I will definitely do so with my eatingYour HbA1c of 42 is marginal. Under 42 is non-diabetic. 42 to 47 is pre-diabetic (or at risk), 48 and above is diabetic.
You are very wise to keep an eye on your blood sugar levels. You also need to examine what you are eating and see if it contains too many carbohydrates. If it does, it would also be wise to cut them down.

I definitely will do that , thank you so much42 are just borderline to being pre-diabetic. So
Close, but a HbA1c of 42 are only borderline pre-diabetic. Your HbA1c can be elevated by illness, infection, flu, I don’t know if you’ve been any sick the last few weeks or months, but this can elevated bloodsugar slightly.
Your fasting value seem fine, so I wouldn’t stress out just yet. But no harm in keeping track of your blood sugar and taking a new HbA1c in a few weeks, to see if your still within normal
