I have recently started on Victoza (upped the dose today) and insulin (2 weeks in). I am currently playing the numbers game. The Victoza makes me tired until it wares off and when I woke up today I was 4.3 and not near a meal. I had a satsuma followed by greek yoghurt with splenda, a few hazelnuts, a few walnuts, a sprinkle of sunflower seeds and a very few goji berries. After 2 hours my BG was 6.4 which was higher than I wanted :eh:

I am new to low carbing so what could I have done to reduce the increase, I suspect the satsuma. What is a good alternative to just pick up your sugar a bit on the long term?

Thanks in advance. This getting the right balance is hard going!

Only you can answer this by trial and error. If it was me I'd try the same meal again without the satsuma, but then I wouldn't be worried about 6.4 2 hours after a meal!

Thanks for the reply and will do. I'm hoping to reduce the amount of insulin to help with weight loss .. well just to reduce it for any reason really

My figures have been between high 4's and high 5's settling about 5.7 more often than not.

I'm not on insulin, but I am low carbing. If I am peckish I will have a slice of ham, a slice of cheese, a babybel or a hard boiled egg. All the rest sounds pretty low in carbs (maybe the yoghurt - sometimes they are high in carbs if they are low in fat)
