ok,ive had type 2 for around 4/5 years. Sometimes after 5/6 hours my sugars are 5.8-6.8 But then i can like........say the other night had a curry at around 6.30pm and stayed in then on the internet and checked my sugars at 10.45pm just over 4 hours and they were 12.6 is that normal? sometimes they may rise to 16.3 or something like that.

Hi iaz and welcome to the forum.

Your blood sugar is a direct reflection of what you eat. A high carb meal will send your blood sugars rocketing, a lower carb meal won't. I'll bet you had rice with the curry, and possibly a poppadum or two, maybe some nan bread? All of these are extremely high in carbs so will naturally have had a big impact on your blood sugar levels, even as long as 4 hours later.

nice one,nan bread yes! what should the maximum be they rise to,after i eat?
and also what reading should i have in the morning, first thing?
