why so high after one slice of bread

Hi ljfh
I am assuming your T2 - are you on any meds? - what kind of bread was it? - most bread even wholemeal will push your BS high as it is high in carbs.

You may have gone high and are coming back down - or it may be dawn phenomenon - there is a lot about that on here just do a search but basically it's your liver dumping glucose into your blood stream to get you moving in the morning. But I suspect it is the former that has given you a high reading

For me personally if I had been 6.5 at a test before bed I wouldn't have eaten any carbs at all - if I was feeling hungry I would have had a small low carb snack - maybe a few nuts or a cup of bovril I find is really good for hunger pangs

thanks for nice reply
