The first thing I thought about was the missed basal dose. I also thought about the fact that this is a new insulin syringe with low-quality insulin or an old needle that does not pass insulin. Is there a drop when you check the pen?
Have you taken any other medications that could affect bg? for example, steroids greatly increase bg.
How high is your bg now? Are you sure you want to eat carbs now?
Follow advice given by DSN regarding correction doses of been given that.
For the future I found it a good habit to mark down all doses soon as injected that way was much less likely to forget. Marked down in both written format alongside libre app . There are other apps available to record carbs exercise injections etc which could be handy for the future. A structured routine will help become routine.
I wasnt sure a couple of times . Was told unless absolutely sure just to do correction dosages. If I was 100 sure missed then just do when remember if within a few hours. It's worth noting some inject basal in morning right as they awake some will do part of their night/bedtime routine. You could speak to your dsn to ask how to go about changing the time if would find it easier to get into a routine at a different time of day
