If you are a type 1 there is no chance that you can become a type 2
Type1= Pancreas no longer produces insulin
Type2= Pancreas still produces small amount of insulin but not enough
There is no way of which I know or have heard of that if you are a type 1 you can become a type2
from what I have seen and read it is impossible. There is a chance that you can be a type 2 and go on to become a type 1.
There is a condition called Double Diabetes where a person with Type 1 develops resistance to the insulin that they are taking, according to this article,
Double Diabetes exists and is becoming more prevalent. I am a Type 1 and have been for over 30 years who has recently been diagnosed with Insulin resistance/double diabetes/Type 2. Type 1's can become TYpe 2 (although will always remain TYpe 1 ). There are variations of causes of typ 2 - some Type 2's make insulin well but they cannot use it properly hence the insulin resistance. I am not the only Double Diabetic I know nd i's not that rare.
