Hi all. I've been switched from insulin treatment to a tablet named diamicron which is said to cause weight gain and hypos. I've been on the tablet for 6 months. I've experienced big weight loss which has levelled out. I haven't experienced any hypos or even anything approaching a hypo and sugars are within range in general. Cheers Kevin.

Diamicron is a brand name for gliclazide. I have been on gliclazide for approx 15 years and never had a hypo on it, I think it depends on what your BS levels are to whether you get hypos. It can cause weight gain.
