I have considered ID jewellery to alert medical teams of my diabetes in an emergency but it would be just my luck to not be wearing it at the crucial time! I thought of having a tattoo on a strategic part of my body to alert anyone if I should be unconscious or carted off to hospital.
Has anyone on the forum done this? What design/information would you suggest? I would want it simple but effective - not overlooked, so immediately obvious.
I really like this idea. The only problem is - the paramedics don't search your whole body for medical information. They usually only look around a persons neck and wrists. (Where the medic alert tags are most likely to be).
The inside of the wrist would probably be a good place for one of these tattoo's.
(P.S - there have been rumours for years about tattoo ink that changes colour based on your BG level. Still waiting for that to materialise, though...)

That is such a stupendously simple idea. Why hasn't anyone developed such an ink, it can't be that difficult. Different inks changing colour at different BG levels and you have a built in BG meter - no expensive test strips or lancing required.
There is a tattoo ink that changes colour, the trouble is we don't know how much it changes colour depending on sugar levels, or if it's the same for everyone, ir how long it lasts etc.
I;m having one done, a Cadeceus with a giant cog around it.
Edit : It's extremely difficult. You have to ensure that it stays for a long time, that it always changes to the same colour, and that it works on everyone, that it changes extremely quickly etc etc.
I have one on my wrist which I think is nice and also is easy to notice should anything happen. There is a pic of it on the forum somewhere - stick in tattoo or look through my threads to find it
