Has anyone had a tattoo done to show they are diabetic but in a nice style??
Thinking of having one but not to sure??

Havent recieved any threads @anna29 and really want a white butterfly as symbol my grandas is with me after seeing a pysic but to have something to show im diabetic too

I'm not really keen on the "official" international symbol which I've seen as a blue circle. I've not actually seen it anywhere so I'm not sure it would be recognised. Any nurses/medical members on the site that can tell us if it is widely recognised? If it is well known to the medical professions maybe a blue circle with the butterfly inside? I've got 5 tats now - they are strangely addictive - I'm just wondering if I should have another, though I don't have them where they are too obvious. Sons other half has a tattoo of a sweet shop on her back from shoulder down to her bottom. Very impressive! The idea of some fancy script on the wrist to indicate diabetes sounds quite good.
 
Yesh just think im going to look at designs and take it from there luckily im friends with a tattosit so i think if i give him ideas hell know ehat to do
 
You could also try doodling your own ?
I doodled till went dizzy !
 
Not into tattoos but thought I'd have a doodle anyway. Found a picture of a butterfly, added the diabetes symbol and................



Was going to add the wording "DIABETIC" underneath and "TYPE 11" or "TYPE 1" above. More detail can be added to the butterfly but I liked the idea of simplicity.

It could work and balance's nicely too .

@kat1989 Doodle your own ideas and colours .
This way it will grab your attention when its right for you .

You could have Diabetic with the tiny butterflies or feather
around the word .
Symbolising your Grandad looking after you
Extra thought for you . x
