hi all
im doing the london knowledge at the moment and ive just been diagnosed type 1 two weeks ago.the doctors have told me i wont get a licence .i just want to know if anyone else has been told this and went on to pass the knowledge.thanks in advance

A friend of mine who is on insulin got a private hire licence in West Berkshire so it must be possible. Unfortunately he no longer lives in the UK but I will email him to see if he can recall exactly how he managed it.

Contact your local council and ask them what their guidelines are on issuing taxi licences for people with type 1 diabetes.

It appears insulin treated diabetics are unable to become a London Taxi driver ( The Knowledge ).

This says Insulin treated D COULD be a problem. Provided you pass DVLA Group 2 medicals you MAY still get in, check anyway!
