Hello my son was recently diagnosed with type 1, he is 14 years old. My husband and I have been looking in to ways of making his life easier and for him to be able to manage his condition.
He likes the idea of a libre and pump does anyone know what criteria he needs to meet and how easy it would be. We are under the nhs Pennines trust.

He would have to meet the NCIE criteria and dependent upon the CCG, the best is to ask your DSN or consultant. Generally for libre you have to be testing more than 8+ times a day or having frequent hypos etc. I believe for a pump he has to attend a DAFNE course as a minimum and show reasonable control before they fund it.

Somebody who has experience of attaining one can hopefully help further.

Thanks so much for your advice, his consultant agreed to recommend that he should have a libre at clinic today.
