Was just wondering if anybody has trouble with thier teeth/gums, I am quite meticulous about my oral management but have found that this last couple months, once or twice my gums have bled pretty bad, trand

yep, after year of being DB my gum have shrunk and continue to do do and i expect problems other than cosmetic any day now,

sorry

I have had gum problems for years before becoming diabetic and even had to have a gum graft to save some teeth (successful) . Hereditary from my Father's side. I still have problems now. I try to help by visiting the dental hygienist every six months (paid for by me) - that is the best I can do. I also clean my teeth 3 or 4 times a day with a soft brush.

Gum problems also come all on their own with age

It could be that your toothbrush is too hard or that you are brushing too vigorously. Always brush in one direction gently from the gum up (or down) to the tooth and use dental floss. This helps to avoid receding gums although they do recede naturally.
