My daughters first 2 hour gymnastic session since being on pump 2 weeks . Still trying to get basal settings correct as getting few hypos in day so put 50% basal on for a hour before the 2 hours gym and a hour after and she still hypo'd half way threw .any advise on a temp basal that may work or is it just trial n error

I'm still fairly new to it too and I've found it is largely trial and error. I find I have to do a temp basal even if I'm going to walk to the paper shop (about 3 mins walk!). If it were me and bloods were okay before exercise I would do a temp basal from an hour before (as you did) but I wouldn't cancel it until after the gym, again depending on what the bg is. In other words I'd leave the temp basal going while your daughter is doing gymnastics. She may also need a larger reduction than 50% but you'd have to test and see.

I do leave temp on while she at gym and for a hour before and a hour after altogether 4 hours .shes been hypoing loads recently really getting me down gine from perfect to low

If active within an.hour after a meal and bolus, try using different % reduction on the mel bolus. I say only if active within an hour of meal bolus, as otherwise would give the meal a chance to spike her levels too much.
If Im active 2~4 hours after a meal and bolus even a 0% basal would cause a hypo without a substantial snack.

Oh god really !!!no wonder she went low! So u mean when i put in carbs and it tells me to give her insulin maybe half the insulin amount it says n change bolus from 50% to 0 % .... Hope u can understand my message and im not rambling on

All trial and error, again.
Try bolusing 75% for the food and 25% reduction in basal.
test,record reduce if needed.

Can i press bolus 75% or do i just work it out ? Sorry to sound stupid im just not fully aware bout pump yet

Can set up diff reductions for excercise reductions. Turn monitor on, press
Settings
Bolus advice
Health events
Will then see a list which you can select with middle button and press up and down arrows. Set up all the ones you need. Only need to do this once, then its set ready, but can do again to change.

When using bolusing advice and do everything as usual but press middle button when health highlighted. Select which one you want to use and will automatically reduce by the pre set amount

or you could set up anther basal profile and manually calculate the reduction and input the rest the same, and just activate the correct profile as and when.
I do that for weekends as I work mon~fri and profile is the same apart from 3 hours in the afternoon. Rather than do a temp basal I just swap the profile on sat morning.

Yes if trying 25% less for food set one of the health profiles to ~25%. Just have to remember to select the right one on health before bolusing.
