Test Strips

3 years Type 2---First time at following LCHF to work toward reducing medication and take control of my health. To avoid overburdening the NHS, I ordered an extra box of test strips on the internet--An Ebay seller was cheapest. Checking the delivery date I was amazed to note that the seller was in fact a seller of one line only--sexy undies. I then thought due to my own stupidity that I had been duped and didn't expect the strips to arrive but they did--intact and sealed. I am wondering whether there are people who over order on their own prescriptions in order to sell them on. Wonder if the batch numbers could be traced, to save fraudulent use of NHS supplies. Be interested to hear of anyone else who may have knowledge of this.

Wow there was a lot of assumptions in there, so here's some more, perhaps they updated their meter to a different one and their old strips became surplus, rather than send them to landfill, this is where they end up even if you take them back to the pharmacy. Maybe they had a rellie that died or they found a supplier off loading them cheap, or they could be really good fakes.
Ok some people do have excess but their GP isn't going to be letting them have 500 boxes a time.
Oh re my first assumption, this happened to me twice, I offered strips and old meter on here, one was taken the other I still have, as no one one here wanted it, bearing in mind it will go to landfill if I return it to the pharmacy what are your suggestions, eBay or freecycle seems to me a good way of someone getting their hands on a perfectly working meter and strips.

Hi there, yes you are absolutely right. Those scenarios never even occurred to me as I haven't changed my meter, and have no surplus's of any meds or strips.
