Wow there was a lot of assumptions in there, so here's some more, perhaps they updated their meter to a different one and their old strips became surplus, rather than send them to landfill, this is where they end up even if you take them back to the pharmacy. Maybe they had a rellie that died or they found a supplier off loading them cheap, or they could be really good fakes.
Ok some people do have excess but their GP isn't going to be letting them have 500 boxes a time.
Oh re my first assumption, this happened to me twice, I offered strips and old meter on here, one was taken the other I still have, as no one one here wanted it, bearing in mind it will go to landfill if I return it to the pharmacy what are your suggestions, eBay or freecycle seems to me a good way of someone getting there hands on a perfectly working meter and strips.
