Testing for Gestational Diabetes at 35 weeks

Newbie
Hi. Hopefully someone can help - I am getting very worried. My doctor and consultant are "worried" that I have Gestational Diabetes because of a large baby but have only discussed a GTT. They also said it is pretty pointless after 30 weeks...very helpful! They don't seem to have any other answers in helping me find out whether I have Gestational Diabetes or in coping if I actually do have it. Are there any tests that can be done after 30 weeks so I can know for sure and start dealing with it?? Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Kate

It is worth finding out as your baby's size could be improved by controlling the diabetes in the last month in the womb.

Also, if you do have gestational diabetes, you are at higher risk of type two later on in your life. Learning about carb control now could make a difference to your future.
