Welcome to the thread William. If you fancy going veggie that's fine but you can get control of your BG by cutting down on Carbohydrates and avoiding sugary sweets, drinks etc. Bread rice potatoes and pasta contain the highest carbs, carrots, parsnips banana and tropical fruits are high too, so try cutting them out or at least greatly reducing them. You really need a glucose moniter to test everything you eat, you will soon identify the foods that are bad for you and the ones that are safe for you. There is also a brilliant little book on Amazon called Carbs & Cals which lists most foods and gives the calorific and carbohydrate values. You will find lots of help here and always somebody around to give you advice, loads of good recipes too for baking, cooking, soups stews and treats.
